Dorrough Single Goes Platinum x 23rd Annual ASCAP Honoree
Texas grown hip-hop star, Dorrough will be honored at the 23rd Annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards in Los Angeles, California June 25, 2010. He was named as a recipient based on the success of his recently certified platinum selling single “Ice Cream Paint Job.”
The invitation-only awards celebration will honor the songwriters and publishers of the most performed ASCAP songs on the 2009 R&B/Hip-Hop, Rap and Gospel charts. “Ice Cream Paint Job” was the 2nd released single from Dorrough’s debut album “Dorrough Music.” The album and single received a lot of national mainstream attention, shining the spotlight on Dallas as a hub for talent. “Getting this award is a great honor, and indicator of the hard work of my entire team. Outstanding sales, radio airplay, and chart performance, are all goals we working to duplicate with my new project and single, Get Big, from my sophmore album that will be in stores this summer.”
