INTERVIEW: Gucci Mane (@gucci1017) Says Riff Raff (@JODYHiGHROLLER) Is 'Lying' About 'Spring Breakers' Influence?

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, but when it comes to James Franco’s role as Alien in the upcoming film "Spring Breakers" rapper Riff Raff shouldn’t be so flattered.

"Although there is only one Riff Raff, James Franco did his thing," Riff Raff said to MTV Hive via text message on Thursday after seeing the trailer for the Harmony Korine-directed flick. "James Franco has diligently studied my style for months on end and he should win a Grammy."

Gucci Mane, who makes his acting debut in the upcoming flick which also stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, believes Jody Highroller is quite mistaken. "Truthfully he lying," the Trap God told XXLMag.com on Friday. "I think Riff Raff’s just trying to gain some attention. And I think maybe [Franco] may favor a little bit his appearance, but it don’t have anything to do with the artist named Riff Raff. I know that for a fact."

Franco’s cornrowed, gold-toothed Alien bares a strong resemblance to the former "From G’s to Gents"star, but the veteran actor told GQ that even though he took a look at some of Riff Raff’s videos he based his character off a little-known Florida rapper named Dangerous.
