T.I. Addresses His Fans

TIP took to his website this evening to get a few things out to his fans. Mr. Harris addressed his emotional state after heading back to jail as well as thanked his supporters for checking out his brand new video “Get Back Up“.

“Thank you to all that took the time to check out my new video GET BACK UP with my homie Chris Brown. And a bigger thanks to those of you who decided to comment (good & bad). To all of you who say “He should practice what he preaches” and “How could he do something so stupid…AGAIN?” You’re absolutely right and I couldn’t agree with you more. But you know what? As history has shown us before, I find my greatest inspiration during my darkest hours. So all fans of music, T.I. or not, should be able to agree that NO MERCY will surely be my best work yet. After all isn’t that what it’s all about? If I never went to prison, never did drugs, never f’ed up again, did everything right and never made great music….would you even care enough to comment on T.I.? Doubt it, so bear that in mind while you jump to your conclusions guys. Martin Luther King once said “Notice not the comments of your enemies but the silence of your friends.” So although I’m still in touch…watching, reading and listening, I’m not concerned with what negative people say more than I am with what positive people don’t. Guess that’s enough for now… Love you all still, whether you still love me or not. REAL TALK!!! And I would like to give a special I LOVE U to @star_omg and @tinymajormama. – Tip”

Soulja Boy: “I Don’t Wanna be Super-Lupe-Fiasco-Lyrical”

Soulja Boy may have made a conscious decision to step up his lyrical game on his upcoming album The DeAndre Way, but that doesn’t mean he plans on confusing his fans.

In XXL’s November 2010 issue, on stands now, SB tells us he has grown as an MC. “I can’t keep playin’ around, because if you keep playin’ around, people are gonna think you’re a joke,” he said in the piece, written by contributor Matt Barone. “At some point, you have to get serious.”

But don’t get it twisted, Soulja doesn’t wanna be the next Lupe Fiasco. “I don’t want to be super-Lupe-Fiasco-lyrical and niggas don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about,” he added.

“I want to be the best,” he continued. “I want to be recognized in that category where I’m nominated for Best Rapper with Jay-Z and Kanye and Wayne. I wanna get a Grammy. I want Best Rap Album of the Year… I’ve made millions of dollars off of doing my style, but, hey, I can rap, too.”

The DeAndre Way hits stores on November 30. XXL’s November 2010 issue with Soulja Boy and 50 Cent on the cover is on newstands nationwide now.

Lil Wayne's Young Money Label Boss Issues Emotional Statement

Lil Wayne was released from prison on Thursday (November 4), and like his Cash Money label head Bryan "Baby" Williams has repeatedly said in recent weeks, the rapper will settle back into his routine by spending time first with his children and extended family.

Williams, along with Young Money President Mack Maine, among others, embraced Wayne upon his exit from Rikers Island, and immediately took the superstar MC to an undisclosed location in New York City to recuperate.

Mack Maine, who will appear Thursday (November 4) at 4 p.m. ET on a special "Welcome Home Weezy" edition of "RapFix Live," issued a statement on Thursday afternoon thanking Weezy fans for their support and expressing his gratitude that the jailed rapper is now free.

"Like any family who is blessed enough to witness a loved one exit prison, the entire Cash Money/ Young Money household has been overcome with emotions," Mack Maine said. "Watching my little brother walk out from behind those walls was more powerful than anything we have ever accomplished together because it meant we were officially a family again.

"From the moment we found out Wayne would be going to Rikers, we prayed this day would arrive as quickly as possible," the statement continued. "It is finally here and words cannot properly describe the feeling in the air. Over the next few days, our only priority is making sure Wayne re-adjusts to life outside of jail as smoothly as possible. He'll be spending much needed quality time with his children and closest loved ones."

Following Wayne's reunion with his YMCMB crew, he's expected to crisscross the country, making stops in Miami for a "welcome home" celebration in his honor, Arizona to finalize a probationary matter stemming from a previous case and, perhaps, Las Vegas, where his protégé Drake teased to MTV News that the duo may reunite onstage. Then, according to Mack Maine, the New Orleans lyricist will make his move to a recording booth.

"From there, it is back to work and back to what we have been doing for years — making good music," he wrote. "To the fans who have been a part of this process every step of the way, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, especially Wayne. Your well-wishes and prayers have made this tough situation much easier to cope with and now we can all celebrate. God bless."
