Earlier this week, XXLMag.com broke the news that Waka Flocka Flame will be involved in the People for Ethical Treatment of Animal’s (PETA) “Ink Not Mink” campaign. Today (February 10), a rep for the animal rights organization told XXL that the 1017 Brick Squad spitta might even appear nude in the planned ads.
While the photos have yet to be shot, Michelle Cho, a spokesperson for PETA said Waka has no problems with baring his clothes for a good cause. “He wasn’t shy about agreeing to go naked to bring attention to the fur industry,” she revealed.
Cho shared that Waka’s efforts with the nonprofit have been in the works for some time now. “We’re all huge fans of his music,” she said about how the partnership came about. “I did some research online and I didn’t see any photos of him wearing fur. PETA reached out to him with a request to start our ‘Ink Not Mink’ campaign, and come to find out, Waka doesn’t even wear leather.”
“Animals should be treated the same as you would a kid,” Flocka told XXL on Monday. “Would you want someone just to walk up and skin your kid? Hell no!”
The shoot for the campaign is set for February 22 in Los Angeles, and the PETA team plans on pushing Waka’s ad as quickly as possible. “We want to get it out there while it’s still cold out, and people are still thinking about buying and wearing fur,” Cho said.
After the launch of this campaign, Flock will be added a long list of entertainers and athletes, including Omari Stoudemire, Chad Ochocinco, Tommy Lee and others, who are showing their support for animal rights.
Bryan “Baby” Williams staked a million dollars on Super Bowl XLV and won big. XXLMag.com recently spoke to the Cash Money honcho about how he plans to shell out his winnings, but apparently he already went shopping.
“I already spent that money [on] a Landaulet Maybach,” Birdman revealed to XXL.
A lifelong Saints supporter, Baby picked the Green Bay Packers over the Pittsburgh Steelers, thanks to some good advice from Lil Wayne.
“My son [Weezy] is a Green Bay fan,” Baby said. “I’m a diehard Saints fan, but he’s a die-hard Green Bay fan. So I just went hard. And I believed Green Bay was going to win, they pulled it off. My son knows a lot of about sports, so I was just like whatever he’s going to rock with I’m going to rock with hard.”
Baby’s biggest bet was on the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Shane Mosley fight last May. He pledged a whopping $4 million on the Midwestern boxer. Baby hopes to exceed that should Mayweather ever go toe to toe with Manny Pacquiao.
“I’m a fan of him [Mayweather],” says Birdman. “Whoever he fights I think he’s gonna beat, so when he fights Pacquiao I’m going to bet 5 million.”
