Rapper Petey Pablo surrendered to federal authorities yesterday (October 13th), for bringing a gun into the Raleigh-Durham International Airport on September 11th, 2010. The rapper was busted by airport security, when they found a stolen 9mm handgun and ammunition, inside his carry-on luggage. According TMZ.com, Petey Pablo will have to go back to court in November to face charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to take a gun onto an airplane. In the meantime, Petey Pablo, born Moses Barrett III, must report a U.S. probation officer. If he travels, he must submit a complete itinerary of all of his plans one month before his trip. Additionally, the rapper must submit to drug testing and refrain from excessive alcohol use. Representatives for Petey Pablo claimed that he stashed the gun in his bag to hide it from a distraught friend, who may have used the weapon. The rapper allegedly forgot the gun was in the bag, when he attempted to board a plane for Los Angeles on 9-11, to attend the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

This went down at Club Play last week. Monica celebrated her 30th birthday. And Larenz Tate and Bill Bellamy were also on hand to wish her well.
This is getting crazy for you Kelly fans out there. In an unexpected turn, Ms. Rowland has now announced the international release of her 3rd solo album, will be pushed back to 2011, along with the US release. During a UStream session last night, Kelly announced the decision. She was not clear on the reason, or if the album will now have a new direction, but we do know she was in the studio with Darkchild, as well as Tricky Stewart, The-Dream and Jermaine Dupri. However, I figured these sessions were all for the US release. While the international version was going to primarily feature her current Euro Dance R&B style.
They say no good deed goes unpunished, and T.I. is learning that firsthand.
As previously reported, Tip helped talk a possible jumper down from a 22-story building in Atlanta yesterday (October 13)—which coincidently falls on the same date that he was busted three years ago for gun possession. The rap superstar was reportedly leaving his house when he turned on the radio and heard about the incident, which was unfolding on top of the building where a local radio station, V-103, is located. Upon arriving at the scene, the Bankhead-bred wordsmith sent a video message of positive and inspiring words to the 22-year-old. The man ultimately came down and was greeted at the elevator by the rapper.
Soon after news surfaced of tragedy being avoided—and, specifically, T.I.’s hand in the resolution—there were murmurs that it was possibly a publicity stunt. As T.I. is set to appear in court this Friday, the timing seemed opportune, some thought. However, the star of the recent film Takers denied such allegations to bet.com.
“I’m aware some people are saying this was a publicity stunt,” he acknowledged. “That’s preposterous. People refuse to acknowledge that God has a purpose for all people. Fate and destiny, all these things, they put us where we’re supposed to be. This was not a coincidence. I didn’t wake up in the morning knowing this was going to happen. This wasn’t on my list of things to do today.”
“If anything, I’ve known it before, felt it before, but in your darkest hours you lose sight of the fact that you can help people,” he continued. “This isn’t out of the norm for me to go out of my way to help people, regardless of my circumstances. That isn’t out of character for me, but I still have a hard time taking any credit for this. It was God’s work, God’s plan, I just happened to show up at the right time.”
T.I. is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow facing a probation violation.
